Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) has been engaged in cultivating in the field of high efficiency mono-Si cells for many years, paving way to numerous technological breakthroughs. In 2012, SAS was the first PV manufacturer to launch P-type “CELCO” (PERC) cells with conversion efficiency of 20.2% while the market standard was only 19% at the time. At present, as a mainstream product of SAS, the conversion efficiency of SAS’ P-type 6-inch “CELCO” PERC cells has been enhanced to 22% up. With this advanced manufacturing process technology and solid production control, SAS continues to make efforts in improving conversion efficiency so as to meet customers’ needs and successfully unfolds its competitiveness in the highly competitive solar industry with leading technology and continuous innovation capability.
Under the fierce competition of the volatile solar market, SAS unceasingly strives for research and development for innovative, high-performance products. The newly released high-efficiency N-type “CelcoN” solar cell presents the latest N-type technology with excellent conversion efficiency up to 23.5%. The output for 60-cell modules is expected to achieve 350W and almost up to 425W for 72-cell modules.
“CelcoN” solar cells can be used in either standard module or bifacial module for 10~20% additional power generation from the rear side. In addition, thanks to low LID (light-induced degradation), good temperature coefficient and high performance at low light intensity, the overall Levelized-Cost-of-Energy (LCOE) of CelcoN module is much lower than most mainstream P-type modules. SAS keeps addressing itself to provide high-performance solar cells with high conversion efficiency, quality and long-term reliability. It is believed that with these high-efficiency solar cells, SAS will be able to support our customers producing high-performance modules and effectively reducing the overall cost of solar energy generation. In terms of the difficulties in the availability of land for solar power plant in Taiwan, this ultra-high efficiency solar modules are expected to be a better contribution for the environment with higher investment returns.
