Group Profile
Group Profile
Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. was established in 1981 and is headquartered in Hsinchu Science Park. Through years of development and transformation, SAS has evolved from a solar manufacturing company into a diversified corporate group with operations spanning semiconductors, automotive components, renewable energy, and energy services. Drawing on its long-accumulated industry insights, manufacturing and engineering experience, and forward-looking yet prudent investment strategy, SAS continues to identify businesses with growth potential and drive the Group’s long-term development through strategic investment, resource integration, and governance collaboration.
Today, SAS is not only a renewable energy company, but also a key platform for the Group’s strategic development. Through a clearly defined business structure and long-term resource allocation, the Company leverages and integrates the technological, talent, market, and capital strengths of its affiliates to build a business portfolio that combines growth and resilience. Amid the reshaping of global supply chains, energy transition, and technological innovation, SAS continues to strengthen the Group’s overall competitiveness.
Maximizing Group Synergies
through Strategic Coordination and Platform Governance
To enable each business unit to focus on its core technologies and market development, SAS completed a corporate spin-off in 2011, separating its semiconductor business into GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. so that it could concentrate on technological advancement and international expansion in the global semiconductor materials market, while SAS continued to deepen its presence in the renewable energy sector. This division of roles not only allows each business unit to develop in with its respective industry cycles and market characteristics, but also establishes a governance framework that combines professional specialization with resource sharing across the Group, laying an important foundation for the Group’s diversified development.
SAS also continues to enhance resource efficiency through business integration and organizational optimization. The company spun off its sapphire business to establish Sino Sapphire Co., Ltd., which subsequently completed a merger with Crystalwise Technology Inc. In 2023, Crystalwise Technology Inc. was officially incorporated into the GlobalWafers. SAS has also actively advanced restructuring of its renewable energy business, continuously refining resource allocation across the Group. By aligning each business within the most suitable organizational structure, SAS enables its each company to maximize their strengths and strategic focus, demonstrating its governance capabilities and long-term vision as the Group’s core strategic platform.
Building Diversified Growth Engines through Strategic Investments
SAS has long upheld a prudent and forward-looking investment philosophy, continuously identifying companies with technological advantages and promising growth potential. Through strategic investments, SAS has gradually established a presence across key industries including semiconductors, renewable energy, and automotive components. Today, the Group has developed three core growth engines, creating a more resilient and flexible business portfolio through the complementary strengths and synergies of these industries.
In the semiconductor sector, the Group has established a strong presence in the global semiconductor wafer market through GlobalWafers Co., Ltd., while also expanding its footprint in key areas such as semiconductor materials- specialty chemicals and compound semiconductors through investing in Taiwan Speciality Chemicals Corporation and Advanced Wireless Semiconductor Company. In the automotive components sector, Actron Technology Corporation positions the Group to capitalize on the growing opportunities driven by new energy vehicles and automotive electronics. In the renewable energy sector, Sustainable Sunrise Co., Ltd. and Susen Green Energy Co., Ltd. focus respectively on manufacturing and energy services. Through a diversified industry portfolio and cross-business collaboration, SAS is able to maintain resilient growth momentum and capital efficiency across different market cycles.
Advancing Renewable Energy with a Dual-Track Manufacturing and Services Model
Renewable energy has always been one of SAS’s core businesses. Since entering the solar energy industry, the Company has built strong capabilities in product development, manufacturing, and engineering technologies. SAS has gradually expanded its presence from solar materials, cells, and module manufacturing to higher value-added segments such as power plant investment, green electricity trading, and energy management services. Through this transformation, SAS has evolved from a product supplier into a comprehensive energy solutions provider.
In response to global energy transition trends and the growing corporate demand for green electricity, SAS initiated an organizational repositioning in 2025 and formally established a dual-track business model centered on manufacturing and energy services. On the manufacturing side, Sustainable Sunrise focuses on solar manufacturing and high-value application markets that require advanced technological capabilities; on the services side, Susen Green Energy integrates power generation, power sales, energy storage, energy efficiency solutions, and energy management services to create a comprehensive one-stop energy services platform.
Through this dual-track model, SAS not only possesses renewable energy manufacturing capabilities, but has also further established a comprehensive value chain encompassing energy development, power trading, energy management, energy efficiency solutions, and operations and maintenance services. This enables the Company to help customers in achieving their RE100, net-zero emissions, and energy transition needs, while creating greater long-term value.
Creating Long-Term Value through Resource Integration
SAS believes that a company’s long-term competitiveness is built on the ability to continuously create sustainable value. By leveraging its industry insights, governance experience, talent development capabilities, and international market resources, SAS supports its affiliates in enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening market competitiveness. Through collaboration and resource sharing across the Group, SAS further amplifies operational synergies and creates long-term value.
As global supply chains continue to evolve, energy transition, and industrial transformation, SAS will continue to leverage its role as the Group’s strategic platform, deepen its presence in key industries, and drive strategic investments and innovation-led growth, and connect Group-wide resources across its business ecosystem. In doing so, SAS aims to build a corporate group characterized by growth, resilience, and sustainability, creating long-term shared value for shareholders, customers, employees, and society.
