Aleo solar develops 290 watt high efficiency solar module with CELCO cells from Sunrise, SAS reinvestment

SAS reinvested Sunrise Global Solar Energy (Sunrise), the leading solar cell producer located in Taiwan, announces its significant breakthrough today. Its high efficiency battery, CELCO, is adapted by Aleo solar AG, the solar manufacturer and distributor in Germany. 60 CELCO cell module outputs maximum power of 290 watt! High technology, anti-reflection glass, highly transparent embedding film and special cell connectors are further components used to improve the module output. These record modules have been certified by the German testing institute VDE. CELCO is the P-type mono cell that has the highest conversion efficiency in the world and can go to mass production.

According to Aleo solar, by using the CELCO cells from Sunrise, Aleo solar is able to produce solar modules in series with outstanding efficiencies of 17.6%. With these power classes, Aleo solar is advancing into the highest power segment on the market and occupy a unique position among other competitors. Aleo solar has been screening the market for a suitable supplier of mono cells. Sunrise’s quality and cost competitiveness clearly stood out from the rest. Aleo solar is very satisfied to enjoy such a strong collaboration.

Sunrise’s CELCO cells use the rear passivation and local contacting methods and are able to achieve efficiencies over 20%. Its highest power P-type mono cells are not only PID resistant, have an outstanding LID behaviour and a superior low light performance, but also show a great temperature coefficient and excellent colour uniformity. Solar market at present is full of N-type mono cell, though N-type is highly efficient, it is also very expansive. CELCO improves P-type mono cell to a significant 20%! While installation, low cost, little waste and high output guarantee an outstanding performance, 60 CELCO cell module outputs maximum power of 290 watt! Sunrise’s cost-competitive P-type contributes to the same output as N type, and certified by the German testing institute VDE. CELCO conquered technology difficulties and becomes the P-type mono cell with the highest conversion efficiency that can put into mass production, showing Sunrise’s excellent R&D power. Sunrise also admires Aleo solar’s strong know-how in production processes and quality. Aleo solar is able to fully transfer the benefits from CELCO cells into their modules. Sunrise is proud of the results of the cooperation which puts both sides into a competitive market position.

In addition to the improved solar cells, Aleo solar uses anti-reflection glass in its new modules that allows more light to penetrate into the module thanks to its thin coating on the glass surface. The EVA encapsulation film possesses better transparency properties, particularly in the ultraviolet spectrum. With the special cell connectors the new modules offer an additional increase in performance: the structured surface of the light harvesting string (LHS) directs more light to the solar cells.

In order to integrate resources so as to improve performance and strengthen competitiveness, SAS proposes to merge Sinosolar. SAS is the existing company. The merger closing date is tentatively scheduled on Aug 1, 2013. The merger is to be decided by both shareholders’ meetings in next week. After the merger, SAS will own 50.95% shares of Sunrise. High-conversion efficiency is the characteristics shared by SAS and Sunrise. This merger not only shows vertical integration ambition of SAS, its cooperation with strategic partner also maximizes synergy. Sunrise’ outstanding R&D not only enhances the international competitiveness, but also creates unique position in the market and greater benefit.
