Lights Out, Impact On: SAS, GWC, and Affiliates Join Forces for Earth Hour 60

SAS and GWC, partnered for Earth Hour 60 on March 23, 2024, demonstrating their commitment to net-zero emissions. During the event, both companies turned off non-essential lights and electrical equipment for one hour at 8:30 PM local time, ensuring normal production continued uninterrupted. This participation marked a continuation of SAS and GWC’s dedication to sustainability since joining the Earth Hour 60 movement in 2023. It further underscored their ongoing efforts to integrate ESG principles into their daily operations.

This year, SAS and GWC expanded their dedication to environmental protection by inviting their group affiliates, AWSC, TSC, and Actron, to join the Earth Hour 60 initiative. This collective effort demonstrates the group’s shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions and incorporating decarbonization into its core business strategy.

Earth Hour 60, the world’s largest voluntary energy-saving event, was launched by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. The annual event aimed to raise awareness about climate change and inspire businesses and individuals worldwide to take action towards reducing their carbon footprint. As the urgency to address climate change intensifies, Earth Hour 60’s significance has grown considerably. It transcends a mere energy-saving initiative, evolving into a powerful symbol of global environmental protection.

We believe that this collective effort will further unite the SAS Group, promote the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
