Hsinchu, Taiwan, November 9, 2017 – SAS today announced financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2017. Consolidated revenue was NT$15.77 billion, a 12.5% increase from the previous quarter and 119.6% from the same period last year. Gross profit was NT$3.31 billion, a 32.3% increase from Q2 and 14 times increase year over year. Operating profit was NT$2.09 billion, a 61.1% increase from Q2 and a significant improvement from the loss of NT$0.4 billion year over year. Net income attributed to parent company came to NT$0.77 billion, 5 times the net income from Q2 and a considerable improvement from the loss of NT$1.3 billion year over year. Earnings per share after tax for Q3 were NT$1.34, higher than that of NT$0.22 for Q2 and NT$(2.27) year over year. GWC, its semiconductor subsidiary, posted consolidated revenue for Q3 of NT$12 billion, gross profit of NT$3.15 billion, operating profit of NT$2.1 billion, net income attributed to parent company of NT$1.65 billion, and EPS of NT$3.78. SAS executed well both in revenues and profit in the third quarter.
The SAS group consolidated financial results as of Q3 2017: year over year, total consolidated revenues achieved NT$43.36 billion, an increase of 98.7%. Gross profit was NT$7.66 billion, an increase of 183.2%. Operating profit was NT$4.04 billion, a substantial increase of 328.5%. Net income attributed to parent company was NT$0.49 billion with EPS of NT$0.86. Total revenue as of Q3 from its subsidiary GWC further came 185.8% up making approximately 80% of the group revenue to NT$33.76 billion with gross profit of NT$8.03 billion, an increase of 174.2%, operating profit of NT$4.88 billion, a big step growth of 200.7%, net income attributed to parent company of NT$3.29 billion, an increase of 197%, and EPS of NT$8.06.
Responding to government’s green power policy, Sunrise PV World Co. owned by the SAS group has been aggressively focusing on rooftop, ground mounted and floating PV power plant investments and construction in Taiwan. In addition, the floating PV system, with the advantage of better cooling effect to generate more electricity, has been build in northern Taiwan by Sunrise PV World Co. aiming to generate 12MV of power capacity from the end of this year. With the operation of every PV system construction, we are seeing continuous contribution on the way for SAS’ profit increases.
