To demonstrate the determination of promoting renewable energy and effort on greenhouse gas emission cut, Premier Liu of Executive Yuan visited SAS on Aug.15, one of the largest solar wafer makers in Taiwan. After staying in SAS for about 45 minutes including production line touring and hearing the presentation , Premier Liu praised SAS’s significant achievement and growth in solar energy field . In a statement following Premier Liu’s visit, Executive Yuan urged the legislature to approve the renewable energy bill to spur the development of solar industry, including the subsidies from the government, an attempt with a goal to bring the production value to reach NT$500 billion by 2012. in Taiwan.
