SAS and Hitachi Jointly Build the Single Largest Solar Power Plant in Taiwan Air Conditioning Industry

June 1, 2023– In response to the government’s policy of developing renewable energy, Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) Group cooperates with Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning Taiwan Co., Ltd. (Hitachi) to establish the single largest solar power plant in Taiwan air-conditioning industry. With constructing and maintaining the solar photovoltaic system, SAS provides the effective solution for Hitachi, who is in the energy-heavy industry, that not only revitalizes the space of Hitachi’s Taoyuan factory, but also increases the benefits by producing green energy. The launching ceremony is held on June 1, representing that SAS and Hitachi work together to fulfill the corporate social responsibility of energy conservation and carbon reduction. SAS will continue to develop green energy technology and create clean energy to contribute its efforts to the environmental sustainability.

SAS collaborates with Hitachi in installing solar panels on the roof and parking lots in Hitachi’s Taoyuan factory. The capacity reaches 9.6 MW, which will produce 10.86 GWh, power around 3,000 households, in equivalent to 28,000 sets of 2.8kW air conditioners running for 1 year, and will reduce 5,513 metric tons of carbon emission per year!

SAS has dedicated in the green energy for decades. Via this cooperation, SAS and Hitachi jointly build the single largest solar power plant in Taiwan air conditioning industry. Not only cells and modules are made in Taiwan, the power plant is also constructed in Taiwan locally, thus reducing the carbon footprint of each production phase from the beginning. Local solutions can effectively shorten the supply chain, build energy autonomy, and further strengthen the resilience of Taiwan’s domestic energy industry. In addition, Taiwan is renowned for its manufacturing strength, which also brings considerable energy consumption. According to government regulations, high electricity users are obliged to boost their renewable portion to more than 10%. How to meet government requirements and maintain stable production is a common issue for many manufacturers. SAS has expanded its business operations from simply providing the materials to managing and maintaining solar PV power plants. Furthermore, SAS has stepped into green energy developing and trading to augment its business scope of renewable energy, transforming itself from “Energy Provider” to “Energy Solution Provider,” also serves as a reliable partner in customers’ ESG journey. SAS will continue to cement Taiwan’s economy prowess with stable energy sources.
