May 19, 2025 –Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) and Premier Energies co-invest in a new entity with 2GW per annum state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in India. It will slice polysilicon ingots into silicon wafers for use in the production of photovoltaic cells and modules. The collaboration aims to bring together Premier En-ergies’ large-scale manufacturing capabilities with SAS’s advanced expertise in wafer manufacturing.
The Indian solar market has immense potential, driven by abundant solar resources, and growing energy demand. The Indian solar manufacturing industry are under de-velopment supportive government policy. The venture will align with Indian govern-ment policies to build capacity to capture market opportunities. SAS partners with Premier Energies and will acquire a 26% equity after the subscription is completed.
Premier Energies is a publicly listed company and a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector with a total manufacturing capacity of 8.4 GW solar cells (including 6.4 GW under construction) and 11.1 GW solar modules (including 5.8 GW under construction). The company is known for its innovation, sustainability, and employee culture, holding the distinction of winning a Great Place to Work certification for four consecutive years. The company has consistently expanded its capacity to support India’s renewable energy push.
By investing in a new India-based solar wafer manufacturing facility, the two companies will bolster a critical aspect of the solar supply chain and make more India-made solar products to the demand market.
