AI power consumption, low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, and the energy transition are driving green electricity demand. SAS is pursuing growth through a dual-track strategy encompassing manufacturing and services. In manufacturing, its wholly owned Yilan subsidiary, Sustainable Sunrise Co., Ltd. (SUN), develops high-efficiency, high-reliability solar products. Its Metal Wrap Through (MWT) solar cells feature a lightweight design that improves power generation efficiency, along with radiation resistance and tolerance to extreme temperatures for LEO satellite applications. The products have passed multiple reliability tests, while customized packaging has completed validation under actual operating conditions, demonstrating SUN’s technical capabilities in space applications. Meanwhile, SAS’s 1 GW solar module joint venture with United Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. (URECO) in the U.S. continues to advance, strengthening its U.S. presence and local supply capabilities. In services, Susen Green Energy Co., Ltd. (SGE, 7931:TT) integrates energy generation, electricity sales, energy storage, and energy efficiency services. Through the third quarter of 2026, its electricity retailers, Anneal Energy Co., Ltd. (Anneal) and Sustainable Energy Solution (SES), recorded cumulative green electricity transactions of nearly 485 million kWh, with transaction volumes continuing to grow, reinforcing their position among Taiwan’s leading private electricity retailers. As green electricity supply expands, SGE expects to capture corporate procurement demand, increase transaction volumes, and improve profitability.
In semiconductors, AI, high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and advanced computing are driving demand for high-end semiconductors, while the recovery is extending to mature-node applications, including power management and data transmission. GlobalWafers’ global footprint is delivering results. In the U.S., its new Texas facility achieved record-high monthly shipments for four consecutive months, while its Missouri facility achieved record 12-inch SOI output in the third quarter. In Japan, the Utsunomiya facility set another shipment record in the third quarter, and the Niigata facility’s revenue grew for several consecutive quarters, reaching an all-time high in the third quarter. In Italy, the new 12-inch production line in Novara continues to advance capacity expansion and customer qualifications. As supply chains become more localized, GlobalWafers’ manufacturing network across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, diverse product portfolio, and cross-site collaboration strengthen its local supply and service capabilities. GlobalWafers also completed a global depositary receipt (GDR) offering in the third quarter, strengthening working capital and financial flexibility.
Regarding affiliated companies, Taiwan Speciality Chemicals Corporation (TSC, 4772:TT) reported record-high standalone and consolidated revenue of NT$0.35 billion and NT$1.01 billion, respectively, in the third quarter. Consolidated revenue for the first three quarters was NT$2.76 billion, up 146.2% YoY, with EPS of NT4.48. Advanced semiconductor processes are driving strong demand for high-purity specialty gases and high-end component cleaning services. TSC continues to expand disilane and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF) capacity, with its first precursor product entering customer testing. Hung Jie Technology Corporation (HJT), which TSC acquired, has also approved a Nanjing expansion project to add capacity. Through capacity expansion and product diversification, TSC aims to strengthen its foundation for growth. Advanced Wireless Semiconductor Company (AWSC, 8086:TT) is pursuing a dual-track strategy, deepening its presence in mid-to-high-end smartphones while expanding into new product lines such as optical communications. As volume production and customer qualifications progress, optical communications are expected to become a new growth driver. Third-quarter revenue reached NT$1.26 billion, marking the second highest on record for the same period. Revenue for the first three quarters reached a record NT$3.78 billion, with EPS of NT$3.9. Actron Technology Corporation (Actron, 8255:TT) is seeing a gradual recovery in its automotive business as demand improves. It is also expanding into AI data centers, AI PC power supplies, industrial power, and digital cameras to develop a second growth engine. Its 400V IGBT products are in mass production, while SiC power modules continue to advance through customer validation and preparations for mass production, strengthening its high-power product portfolio. Consolidated revenue for the first three quarters was NT$6.03 billion, down 3.7% YoY, with EPS of NT$4.5.
SAS integrates its semiconductor, renewable energy, and automotive component businesses around two core growth themes: computing and power. It will continue to capture demand from AI, LEO satellites, and the energy transition, deepen its global presence, and pursue growth while maintaining stable cash flow to create long-term shareholder value.
